Planning a content shoot: a step-by-step guide
How to prepare for a photo or video shoot so you leave with a month of usable content.
Write a shot list
List every shot you need before the day: hero product shots, team portraits, process details, and vertical clips for reels. Mark which are essential and which are nice to have.
Shoot for every format
Capture both vertical (9:16) and horizontal footage. Leave space around subjects so images can be cropped for stories, posts and website banners.
Prepare the space
Clean surfaces, remove clutter, and plan around natural light where possible. For food, prepare dishes in small batches so each one looks fresh on camera.
Batch your edits
Editing in batches creates a consistent look and gives you a library to schedule from, rather than scrambling for content each week.
